Geomagnetic Observatories


INGV is responsible for the monitoring of the Earth’s magnetic field variations in Italy, for the absolute measurements and for the preparation and validation of data from the Italian magnetic observatories (L’Aquila, Castello Tesino, Lampedusa and Duronia) and from the Antarctic observatories located at the Mario Zucchelli Station (Terra Nova Bay) and on the Antarctic plateau at Concordia Station (Dome C).
